SoLAR Flare Southeast US (Emory, 2015)

The Southeast Educational Data Symposium (SEEDS) will bring together administrators, researchers, and instructors to share how they are making use of educational data to foster student success, and to generate opportunities for ongoing collaboration in the Southeast region of the United States on Friday, February 20, 2015 at the Emory Conference Center in Atlanta, GA.The all-day event will run from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM EST and include a morning keynote, delivered by Carolyn Rosé (Carnegie Mellon University), followed by panel discussions and lunch-time roundtables.

Applications for participation have been reviewed, and panelists confirmed to lead discussion on the following major themes:

  • Learning at Scale
  • Academic Analytics
  • Tools & Services
  • Instructional Design

The Southeast Educational Data Symposium has drawn interest from over 20 schools and educational technology firms from Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Mississippi, and as far away as Michigan.  The number of in-person attendees has been limited in order to most facilitate active engagement by participants.  All of the day’s events will be professionally recorded and produced as an archive and to allow for asynchronous participation afterwards.

The Southeast Educational Data Symposium is made possible through the generous contributions of Emory Libraries and Information Technology Services, Emory Center for Digital Scholarship, and the Institute for Quantitative Theory and Methods. For more information about the Southeast Educational Data Symposium, and about the learning analytics community at Emory University more generally, please visit the event’s official website.
