Visa Information

International visitors may need a Visa to enter Japan. Please refer to the following website from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to see if you require a visa. If so, the website will also provide you with procedural information to complete the visa process.

For ease of reference here is a list of countries that are EXEMPT and do NOT require a visa to enter Japan: Exemption of Visa (69 countries)

Invitation Letters

**If you require an invitation letter from LAK24 organizers for your visa application, please email lakconference@gmail.com with the following information:

  • Full Name (as stated on your passport)
  • Address
  • Institution/Organization
  • Passport Number
  • Submission #'s and Titles of your papers/presentations (if applicable)
  • Conference Registration Confirmation # (you must be registered for in-person attendance prior to requesting an invitation letter)

**If your country/visa process requires any additional information to be included in your letter, please mention that as well in your email to organizers.

 

Online Immigration Forms - For all travelers

All international travelers will be required to complete a foreign national entry record (immigration form).

You have two options: traditional paper based forms or to use the online service listed below.

Go to Visit Japan Web, an online service for immigration, customs and tax-free shopping. You can complete the necessary immigration forms online at this site.

COVID Related Information

As of April 29, 2023, all travelers are no longer required to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination nor a certificate of a negative COVID-19 test conducted within 72 hours prior to departure.

Should this change as time goes on, organizers will update this website.
