Our Product team is looking for a data science nerd with product design sense.

What you will be doing:

  • Pulling and working with large data sets to describe, diagnose, and predict user behavior;
  • Learn and apply understandings from the fields of education, cognitive psychology, data science to serve the very human needs of learners and teachers;
  • Develop and prototype learning analytics diagnostic & predictive models in coordination with the Product Analytics team, using various machine learning and data mining techniques, such as neural networks, etc;
  • Communicating results and methods to both Product and Engineer types;
  • Collaborate both inside and outside the company with diverse personalities and skill sets;
  • Conducting all activity securely and in accordance with privacy best practices and company policy.

Here’s what you will need to know/have:

  • Ability to construct complex queries in order to pull, parse, and organize data from various sources;
  • Expertise with relevant languages and tools for data exploration and manipulation, e.g. SQL, Python, R, etc.;
  • Real-world experience analyzing and deconstructing large data sets, including applying machine learning, neural networks, artificial intelligence, etc. to solve important problems;
  • Strong preference for a graduate degree in data science, engineering, computer science, statistics, or related field;
  • Strong preference for candidates with learning analytics expertise, or at least the ability to transfer your experience to the domain of education;
  • Personal project management skills;
  • Passion for putting data to work to help people save time and be more effective;
  • A growth mindset and a can-do attitude suitable to our energetic, fast-paced environment;
