We are seeking an outstanding postdoctoral candidate with an interest in Artificial Intelligent (AI) and Human-Computer Interaction (HCI)  to work on  projects related to Human-AI Interaction and AI-driven Personalization

The ideal candidates will have a strong publication record in areas including human-AI Interaction, Explainable AI, user modeling and personalization,  intelligent interactive systems, virtual agents, affective computing,  AI, HCI, and related fields.

Applicants should be qualified at the Ph.D. level (or equivalent). In addition, they must have: excellent interpersonal, writing, and research skills; strong time management and organizational skills;  the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines and to work both independently and as a member of the research team, including mentorship of graduate students.

The successful applicant will join Prof Cristina Conati’s Human-AI  Interaction group (https://hai.cs.ubc.ca/), which has a long history of publishing in top venues and a strong research awards record. 

Timescale of Appointment: 1 year, renewable for two more years. The review of applicants begins immediately until the position is filled. The target start date is as soon as possible. The exact start date is negotiable.
